Earth Day Coalition presents our 17th Annual Instrumental Evening for the Earth at the smARTspace at 78th Street Studios. The evening will feature a performance by members of the world-famous Cleveland Orchestra, a local and sustainable food reception, raffles and a live auction. In the Community
The Ohio Sierra Club is gathering information about basement flooding events in Northeast Ohio. This information may be useful for helping communities bridge reporting gaps, identify weak spots in our wastewater infrastructure, and prioritize solutions such as sewer repairs or green infrastructure. Ultimately, our goal is to help keep raw sewage from entering our basements, our streams, and Lake Erie. Click here to take (or share) the survey.

Join in the annual Great Lake Erie Boat Float at Edgewater Beach in the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. This is a fun and unique event that helps raise awareness about the effects of plastics in our waterways. NRDC’s "Toxic Power" uses publicly-available data to rank states and power plants based on 2010 air pollution levels showing that Ohio (#2) only follows Kentucky (#1) among the top 20 toxic U.S. states where residents are at a higher risk of numerous health problems just by breathing.
Do you know the E-Check program removes 74 tons of harmful emissions each day. And the Ohio EPA has introduced a new, decentralized E-check program called ChoicePlus with 16 self service kiosks and 53 new testing locations. More information here.
The U.S. EPA has released the 17th annual U.S. greenhouse gas inventory showing that overall emissions have grown by over 10% from 1990 to 2010.

Produced by Patagonia founder and conservationist Yvon Chouinard, DamNation has won awards at SxSW Film Festival and Environmental Film Festival. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Friends of the Crooked River, and organization that works tirelessly to conserve the Cuyahoga River watersherd.
