Clean Transportation

We are accelerating the deployment of clean fuels and vehicles since receiving the U. S. Department of Energy’s “Clean Cities” designation for Northeast Ohio in 1999. We also promote clean technologies and practices such as idle reduction, mass transit, car sharing, bicycle infrastructure and other initiatives to improve air quality and quality of life, while reducing petroleum consumption and the causes of Climate Change.

This dynamic student leadership and service-learning program enhances high school student's research skills, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills while uniting Cleveland Public Schools with schools in suburban districts in hands-on projects. The Student Congress is the only comprehensive environmental education program serving Northeast Ohio high schools.

Within the framework of environmental justice, sustainable development and pollution prevention we work with our communities on neighborhood audits, right-to-know laws, environmental risk regulation and reduction, clean air and water, restoring our streets with native Ohio plants, and local assets such as the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve.
